ESTUDO SOBRE AS ATIVIDADES DOS ENFERMEIROS DOS CENTROS DE ATENÇÃO PSICOSSOCIAL (CAPS) DO SUL DO ESTADO DO ESPÍRITO SANTO : UM ESTUDO DESCRITIVO.
Abstract
The object of this study is by nurses at the Centers for Psychosocial Care (CAPS), it is a descriptive study with a qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with nurses working in CAPS located in Southern State of Espirito Santo. Our aim was to understand the actions of nurses in CAPS, and specifically to characterize the activities of nurses in this institution, and discuss these activities according to the Psychiatric Reform. Respondents had a mean age of 30 years, showing a young workforce and predominantly female. Most subjects have recently graduated from the graduate, the average being 7.5 years, and those who attended graduate school, only one in a related area of psychiatry. Nurses reported individual care as the main area, and the principles of psychiatric reform, the most reported was the promotion of self-care, although the technical and administrative activities such as medication control and coordination of the unit appear repeatedly in speeches. The greatest influence of the psychiatric reform that was reported was the reintegration of patients into society. Data analysis suggests consideration by nurses acting as a therapeutic agent, although the discourse reveals an emphasis on activities of administrative nature, which points to a need for specialized courses that provide theoretical support for the development of practice, requiring the nursing professional increase of knowledge, consistent with the assumptions of the psychiatric reform.
