RIGIDEZ DE PREÇOS : UM ESTUDO APLICADO AO MERCADO DE GASOLINA
Abstract
In a different way that many economic models say, price do not react instantaneously and
completely to variations in cost and demand; in this matter they are stick. This dissertation intends to
analyze the theme of price stickiness, we discuss the different works and theories present in the
economic literature. In this theoretical context we analyze the behavior of gasoline prices along its
production chain. We find that gasoline prices are stick and behave asymmetrically to increases and
decreases of costs.
