Gênero e pobreza: um estudo de caso das mulheres chefes de domicílio das comunidades de baixa renda do Caju

Abstract

This dissertation, by means of the study of female headed households in the ghettos of Caju, in Rio de Janeiro, has as objective to contribute towards the study of poverty in gender perspective boarding the actual debate of the possibility to consider the female headed household s increase as indicator of increasing women s poverty. According to the results of the case study, female headed households can be considered as an indicator of the women s vulnerability towards poverty, but not as indicator of increasing women s poverty.
