Retrato falado: uma fábula cômica do cotidiano

Abstract

This thesis analyses the connections established by the dialogue between traces of melodrama, documentary and grotesque at a comic television show (Retrato Falado, exhibit by TV Globo, on Sundays). The goal is to consider the implications of such dialogue in representing Brazilian everyday life. The television shows are typically organized according to two different domains entertainment and information which is in itself a reflection of the expectations of the audience regarding the fictional and the real. The overlapping of those expectations takes place at the reconfiguration of what we call the media world and the everyday world , designing the narrative structure of the TV Show Retrato Falado
