Abastecimento de água de uma refinaria de petróleo: caso REPLAN

Abstract

Water is an essential part of petroleum industry, but the current and future need of water supply to attend an oil refinery is becoming a bigger challenge. The difficulties get bigger if the refinery is located in São Paulo Region where the water shortage is a reality. Based on the refinery historic data, the available water survey and the water regulation, this study aims identify the alternatives environmentally consistent to ensure the water supply to grant the current and the future need of the Paulínia Refinery. The following possibilities were evaluated: rational water use; water reuse, municipal wastewater reuse, surface and groundwater allocation and rainwater use. The study aims to emphasize the importance of the user participation on the Basin River Committee and how the pipeline right-of-way of PETROBRAS can enlarge the water supply alternatives
