Resumo
One of the routes traced in the path of the investigation with the children of middle
school, from Escola Municipal Diógenes Ribeiro de Mendonça, located in the city of
Niterói / Rio de Janeiro, led me to the encounter of experiences, narratives and child
voices. The children help me comprehend how I am taught to read and write daily inside
the interpretation of the school area. As I learn with the children, I am (in) forming
myself, from their (in) formation. The research as part of formation, which I am
developing, in my master s degree course in Universidade Federal Fluminense, has been
teaching me to learn with the children whom, besides being apprentices, teach how to
teach. Paths that lead to other paths, the Escuta Ssensível ( Barbier ) and the Geografia
Existencial (Milton Santos) makes it possible to the teacher and the children to trace the
image-maps of the quotidian in the class room. The methodological option of research
with children is based on the children themselves. I discovered with Walter Benjamin
that the narratives of children can reveal the wealth of their daily life experiences. This
way, their discoveries, their way of being and creating, are treated as investigation s
documents, that have helped me comprehend the relation between the daily experiences,
the interpretation of area and the production of their palavramundo (Freire). The
interpretation that children have of the world, of life s social relations, of the school
environment, that is, of the reality in which they live are instruments for the
understanding of the quotidian that surrounds us. My initial surprise concerning school
and lack of comprehension of it, were definitely important to unleash my process of
inclusion in the group. The less included I felt, the more instigated I was to the possibility
of discovering a new method of doing things, in a way that the welcoming could surpass
the strangeness. As this research is being composed I reflect on the class room area as a
possibility of potential, of subjectivities and at the same time, I am challenged to discover
the production.
