Abstract
This work introduces the labyrinthine path of poor young lifes that signs up and may
clear the inflection produced around the increasing of poverty, the lack of jobs and the
precaurius scholarship at the urban environment. The research intends to scrutinize the way
that poor youngs have been drawing their life experience, facing the (im) possibilities of their
everyday school lifes, on the tensions related to their jobs, housing and the town. The point
that marked this thesis was to know whether the neighbourhood can still be an spatial and
affective reference to the production of their juvenile lifes. Young poors as social individuals,
are just understood at the multidimensionality of their lifes, at its process of singularization.
The research pretends to know its experiences of lifes and the ancient inhabitants of Jardim
Catarina neighbourhood (district), placed at the east side of the metropolitain area of Rio de
Janeiro. The poverty dresses and redresses the peripheric neighbourhood. The matter is
whenever Jardim Catarina is not seen as a criminal area, it turns up as the expression of the
abandon, promise of investments or fighting areas for to be urbanize. For up-to-date those
senses and the soundings produced by those poor bands, this thesis seeks overpass the
perception of a fragmented town whereas the passage traced by individuals lead us through
different borders at the folding of the social life. The field diary, interviews and the
observation of each participants are the main metodological ways adopted at the study. The
writing traces and the chapters of this thesis articulate themselves around the ethics
happenings that echoes from reports of the life these poor youngs and ancient inhabitants
within the simultaneous social tissue. The analises that has been done were made at the
intercrossing of the theorical approaches that proceeds, mainly, among Walter Benjamin,
Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Milton Santos. The conclusion is that, taking
into account the flow of life produced by the youngs between their housing area, the
education experience, the lack of jobs and the wandering through the town, whereas the
weight of the changes of a globalized world the neighbourhood as an inhabit area can still be
established as an assemblage of adhesion for a great number of individuals of the social
popular section. The places potency produced by the youngs is the expression, by one side, of
the effective materials conditions que affects its lifes, from the creation of possibilities fields
insurgent, that expresses molecular resistences. At the same time, the youngs signs up violent
practices that affects their lifes. For a great number, live in a popular neighbourhood means
deal with the real insecurity and prejudice; but the young shows much more than a fixed
image would want to freeze and in spite of it the youth is placed into the shadows.
