As mulheres de "Paraiburgo" : representações de gênero em jornais de Juiz de Fora - MG (1964 a 1975)

Abstract

This study has a objective to analyze the representations of gender constructed in the press of Juiz de Fora in the period of 1964 to 1975, with emphasis in periodicals: Diário Mercantil and the Diário da Tarde. Edited in a city of the interior of Minas Gerais in a context of dictatorship in Brazil and also of advances in terms of feminine conquests, the related periodicals had contributed in the landmark of spaces delimited for borders nor always visible, that would have to be busy for women of the diverse segments of the society. Thus, the representations of gender had valued definitive groups of women and had reported negativity those that were not in accord with values defended for the society, that valued the intent woman to the "being" and "to seem right".
