|Abstract:||The urban passenger transportation system is considered of high importance as it is one of the key pilars in the mobility of modern societies. In the current scenario it s observed a lack of qualified drivers, which is the main workforce in the public transportation system. The survey has been done through the use of a questionnaire, which deals with the main reasons that motivate drivers to remain working at passenger-bus transportantion companies. The most important factors for the job retention of bus and micro-bus drivers as unveiled in the survey are the pleasure for what they do, the relevance of their work for the society, the good tools made available by their companies, the opportunities for professional growth and the excellent colleagues they work with.. This study also presents suggestions for job retention strategies, with the objective to allow companies to maintain buses and micro-buses drivers in their staff.|
