Maternidade no cárcere: reflexões sobre o sistema penitenciário feminino

Abstract

This study deals with issues relating to motherhood in prison theme. Seeks to reflect on motherhood in the context of women prisoners. The debate over prison policy in the State of Rio de Janeiro is also a central issue. This study was based on the work of the Research Group "Maternity and Prisons." For the unfolding of this study addressed the issues of gender relations present in prison given that prisons are understood, even today, as the primary containment equipment state-repression of the demands of the poorest in a situation of social transgression.
