Abstract

Diário do hospício is an unfinished project of novel. It was a space designed to record the considerations of the writer Lima Barreto about the routine of the hospice system. These considerations are accompanied by analysis and discussion around the author s experiences about the extreme human degradation. The author writes about their personal dramas, describes doctors, guards, nurses and other patients confined. The text is fragmented, discontinuous and ambiguous and it s used as a working method, where the writer appropriated in various ways narratives to represent the humorous and the most dramatic episodes occurred in hospice
