|Abstract:||In this thesis we analyze, using the concepts that compose Gramsci s amplified state theory , the relation between State, communication and citizenship inserted in the quotidian struggle for hegemony in society. We identify in the formation of the modern Brazilian state the main characteristics pertinent to communication politics that direct and regulate the exercise of the activity and the use of state resources. In this context, we discuss the importance of the right to communication as an expression of the present social demands and contradictions, its recognition as a citizenship right and its relevance for concretizing the right to health|
