|Abstract:||To understand both availability and cycling of elements in aquatic ecosystems it s necessary to comprehend their chemical interactions and size fraction associations. For this goal, tangential ultrafiltration (UF) is an interesting alternative that allows concentrating the species and assessing what particle size fraction the element is associated. This study aims to evaluate the role of the particulate fraction, colloidal and truly dissolved in mobility / biodisponibility of trace elements (Al, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu and Zn) in a drainage basin. The concentration of trace elements was determined in different fractions (0.1 m, 10 kDa and 1kDa) during the dry and rainy seasons by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). During the rainy season Mn, Cu and Zn showed a greater association with the truly dissolved fraction, while Al, Cr and Fe with the particulate fraction. In the dry season Mn, Al and Fe were preferentially associates with particulate fraction, while Cr, Cu and Fe the truly dissolved fraction.|
