Abstract

This is an essay about the António Franco Alexandre s poetry. The reading proposed here is focused on his work Aracne (2004) and has as its analysis axis the idea of metamorphosis. Articulating this notion to creative procedures of the author, we also observe how eroticism and representation are combined in order to build an ethic of poetry. Describing a literary path that goes from the homonym myth to the poem, this dissertation equally intends to visit the Portuguese lyric tradition as much as the universal canon, noting its impact on intertextual game promoted by the work in question
