A UTILIZAÇÃO DOS PRINCÍPIOS DA ANDRAGOGIA NO PROCESSO DE COACHING EXECUTIVO
Abstract
In recent years, the Coaching has been one of the most used approaches to human development in organizations in Brazil and worldwide. In this dissertation, we ask: "Do the coaching processes adopted in companies consider the principles of andragogy to change behavior?" Through field research, we tried to produce a satisfactory answer to the question above. In our journey, we looked for identifying, within the executive coaching, how much of the transformative potential comes from andragogical bases, that is, to what extent the theory of adult education, known as andragogy, is present in the set of development techniques known as coaching. The study analyzes aspects related to key elements of the coaching model applied to companies in order to understand the grip of the principles advocated by andragogy. As a theoretical basis used KNOWLES (2009) and WHITMORE (2006), authors who have studied and helped to develop the concept of the andragogy and coaching. We propose a parallel between the principles discussed by them. In our investigation, we verified the existence of scientific andragogical practice in the structuring of the coaching process commonly found in organizations. The methodology consisted in interviews with professionals of coaching working in corporate human development. Establishing the influence of andragogy in development techniques aimed at companies can provide a greater reflection on the effectiveness of the processes of behavioral change as a key factor in the preparation of individuals.
