MODELO ESTRATÉGICO DE GESTÃO DE SEGURANÇA E SAÚDE NO TRABALHO
Abstract
This study intends to discuss whether the requirements for the certification of a health and safety management system under the OHSAS 18001 are enough to meet the real needs of an organiization, as well as to propose an alternative to this way of management. To do this, requirements from other well known health and safety management systems were studied
together with tools that are related to and communicate strategic measures. A case study of a company from the environmental protection sector is presented, making it possible to assess the aplication and the focus given to a system based on the OHSAS 18001 standard series for
health and safety evaluation, good management practices, a good level of safety culture dissimination and systemic continuity. It is possible to conclude from the study that the
organization s real needs should be complemented with other references, without loosing sight of the original scope. The proposed strategic system has a structure that supports the
implementation of the referenced standard s requirements, allowing for the understanding of the strategies used, deploying the management actions into strategy maps.
