Resumos de dissertações e teses sobre língua espanhola : análise da estrutura interna e mapeamento da produção científica

Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this research is to characterize scientific production in the field of Spanish Language and internal structure of the genre abstracts of dissertations and thesis. Methodology: The corpus comprises 132 dissertations and thesis abstracts defended in 20 Brazilian Superior Teaching Institutions from 1981 to 2004. IMRC (Introduction, Methodology, Results and Conclusion) structure is considered the canonic one. The analysis focuses the internal structure description of these abstracts, its adequacy to word boundary established by Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas and the scientific production mapping. Results: The results show that most abstracts have heterogeneous structures when compared to IMRC standard; there is a predominance of the ones that have three sections, among which IMR structure stands out. Moreover, the mapping discloses that the biggest production is concentrated in 2001; master dissertations predominate; language description is the most recurrent macrothematic, while linguistic politics is the one that has the lesser percentage. Conclusions: Abstracts structure seems to be conditioned by several factors, among which the pressure of the scientific production conditions in the field of Humanities and abstracts authorship stand out. Also there can be lack of severity on the part of some authors when they elaborate their abstracts. On the other hand, the scientific production mapping in the field of Spanish Language supplies a general panorama of the researches carried through in this field. So it is recommended to give continuity to this study in order to complement it.
