Abstract: The present work analyzes practical of management of the absenteeism in organizations of the productive chain of the automobile industry. The strategy of used research is an explorer study: from bibliographical research, of field and study of case, it is presented contribution for the knowledge of the causes and consequences of the absenteeism. This study it makes possible to approach the effect about these programs that treat the absenteeism and analyzes its efficiency. Recommendations are presented that can consist in lines of direction for management people in the Brazilian organizations, for the effective management of the causes and consequences of the absenteeism.
