Abstract
The identification and the definition of the needs of a system of strategic information, tactics,
operational and of corporate communications, they base on operations guided to the market
and supported by systems of information and of communication highly efficient. Managers
depend on their internal registrations of orders, sales, prices, costs, inventory, accounts
receivable, accounts payable, communication with internal and external customers,
knowledge management, environmental management, sustainability, etc. Through the analysis
of those information important opportunities and problem can be identified. The marketing
atmosphere is changing to a faster rhythm. Therefore, the needs of information and real time
market communication is greater than any other time. The new millennium, and the new
information, technology and communication age were we live brings the need of constant
updating and tracking of the organization environmental changes. The globalization trend that
drive the companies strategic thought towards a higher level makes necessary a faster and
more precise information harvesting process. While companies expand their geographical
market covering, their leaders need information that help them to identify opportunities and
changes into the market target. The understanding of the surrounding market is vital to the
company that intends to remain competitive in this new scenario. Availability of trustful
information is a fundamental condition for effective production planning and control, costs,
distribution optimization, profitability, marketing, finance, etc. Information technology is
configured as indispensable to achieve and to maintain competitive advantages. That s why
the information systems and communications are vital to any organization. The present work
is intented to verify, in a general panorama, the importance of information systems and of
communication, as well as some alternatives and some practical cases that worked well (or
not) of companies that are getting full advantage from the progress that the modern systems of
information and of communication can offer
