Abstract
The National Metrology Institutes (NMI) have the commitment to disseminate the units of the International System of Units (SI) with the required metrological confidence to their services users, as we!! as to evidence technica! competence, through the compatibility of results with their c.ongeners, aiming the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) coordinated by the Bureau Intemational des Poids et Mesures (BIPM). As the reference Iaboratory in the dimensional metrology area in the country, the Dimensiona! Metro!ogy Laboratory (LAMIN) has this commitment. Due to the difficu!ty to attend abso!ute and effectively some technica! requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard (in special the 5.9), that talks about the Assuring the Quality of Test and Calibration Results , and by the difficulty to obtain information about this subject with other NMI, arose the motivation for the deve!opment of a generic methodology that cou!d a!!ow LAMIN s measurement processes ana!ysis and verify if they present the necessary confidence and accuracy to the ca!ibration activities performance. The technical requirements of the mentioned standard and relevant concepts contained in the ISO/TS 14253-2 standard were taken into consideration for the methodology development. It was made a ca!ibration process analysis of a vertical sma!l displacements generator, main element, that together with a sine bar compose a small ang!es generator. This one is LAMIN s reference standard to the dissemination of the measurement units of the Plane Angle quantity and which gives traceability to several angle measurement processes, reason why this process was chosen to be studied.
