Abstract: The resistance welding process has been for years broadly used in the automotive industry, a lot of times being still the best process option for union of sheets for the formation of the metallic automobile s structure. During the process history, It is observed that, for many years, few were the relevant developments in that process, perhaps due to your apparent simplicity, doing its application always in a quite orthodox way. Already in the last decade, for the reason of new kinds of materials for automobile s construction, we watched that your users and system s manufacturers have seen the process with other eyes. They have already been making great technology contribution to the equipments, as well as they have been developing new operation forms and controls seeking to lower consumption, costs of the investments, to turn the equipments most operational, versatile, capable to weld different kinds of metal sheets, and so set up a process with smaller probabilities of mistakes, what can come to influence even in the image of the brand in the market what the car is produced for. That work has for objective to analyze the relevant applied variations to the resistance welding points, supplying information about thecurrent situation of the chosen model and offering answers for the questions about the possibility of mistakes in that model. Inside of the definition of the process variations, it is the workers action, which influences directly the quality of the work. Considering to the expectations of professionals that work in the production engineering area, that work relates how important are the variables involved in the resistance welding points, as a manufacturer process and what is the results in the product, analyzing the potentials of the process s improvement, with the goal to turning it more and more efficient to the factories that apply it
